Senior clerics in Iran have recently used their Friday sermons to demand a crackdown on women practising so-called "bad hijab" in public. The ravings of these elderly, conservative men have enabled fresh crackdowns on mixed-sex gatherings, detentions of innocent women and girls, and even the forced "alteration" of womens' headstones in Tehran to make them appear fully veiled. This cartoon by Mana Neyestani depicts the suffocating atmosphere created for citizens who happen to be female, and suggests it's the Imams who parasitically need them, not the other way around.
