Iran's Ministry of Intelligence has announced the arrest of 14 individuals in various provinces across the country. The individuals are accused of engaging in actions aimed at "instigating chaos and disorder” ahead of the September 16 one-year anniversary of the death in police custody Mahsa Amini.

The official statement labels the detained individuals as "terrorists" and asserts their affiliation with an expansive "Zionist-terrorist network."

Furthermore, it claims that upon their arrest, authorities uncovered and seized a cache of "43 potent explosive devices."

In recent months, there have been a number of cases in which ordinary citizens have been detained on similar charges.

However, in most cases, these allegations have been unsubstantiated and the detainees have been released.

In one such case, a group of rock climbers were arrested in Shiraz during nationwide protests last year.

They were accused of orchestrating armed activities within Shiraz. However, photographs disseminated through the media during their arrest depicted equipment typical of climbing enthusiasts, rather than weaponry.

Ultimately, all those implicated in the case were granted release on bail.

The Ministry of Intelligence's statement comes just days before the anniversary of Mahsa Amini's death.
