Mohsen Langarneshin has been transferred to solitary confinement at Ghezelhesar prison in Karaj, signaling that his execution may be imminent.
The death row prisoner was convicted of espionage after 22 months in detention.
Prison authorities have not explained the transfer, according to the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights.
During his detention, Langarneshin was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture aimed at extracting forced confessions.
Langarneshin was moved from Evin Prison to Ghezelhesar on February 16.
He was initially held in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, run by the Ministry of Intelligence.
He was reportedly threatened with harm to his family and accused of involvement in the killing of an IRGC officer.
Intelligence agents arrested Langarneshin in Tehran on July 3, 2023. He endured 43 days of torture before being transferred to Evin Prison.
