The Torture that got me to Confess

More than 3,000 people who took part in Iran’s January 2018 protests have been arrested, and there are reports that many of them have been forced to confess to collusion with "foreign enemies". 

Forced confessions are one of the Iranian regime's most-used weapons against dissidents. 

Before the revolution, Iranian communist Mohammad Ali Amooee spent 24 years in prison. He never confessed to the crimes of which he was accused. So why when he was arrested after the revolution did he confess after a relatively short time? We talked to him about torture, coercion, and confession in post-revolution Iran.
