Security forces arrested journalist Farzaneh Yahya-Abadi in her hometown of Abadan on October 19.
Yahya-Abadi is a freelance reporter covering local news in the southern city for various websites and newspapers such as state-run Abadan Khabar. She previously worked for the official IRNA news agency.
The journalist was covering national protests for local Abadan newspapers when she was arrested, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ).
